Daniel Nowak, once a one-hit wonder, works in a psychiatric hospital in Munich after a failed suicide attempt. There he joins a study by Dr. Lissi Waldstett, who investigates the influence of singing together on depressed people. Through his musical collaboration he motivates the group, achieves viral attention and prepares an appearance on a late-night show, which fails, however, because a choir member is missing.
